Indonesian backrooms would be an old shopping mall when all the shops are closed and you’re not sure where each alley leads to. it’s not GI or any modern-looking mall. think pasar senen, thamrin city
Iida Pochi talked about how her first exposure to TYPE-MOON was probably Melty Blood where she would play with her friends in the arcades. She would play as Ciel-senpai.
Around that time, she also read the Tsukihime manga adaptation which she calls a masterpiece. She said in retrospect, her works may have been heavily influenced by that manga.
Her first exposure to the Fate series was right after starting university and joining an otaku-related circle where her senpais loved talking about it. She then joked about how yes, she was part of that generation as the information was exposing her age.
If she was able to travel to the past, she'd tell her younger self who's playing Melty Blood at the arcades that she'll character design for a TYPE-MOON game in the future and to invest in Bitcoin.
She then received a comment that investing in Bitcoin would give her a brighter future so she wouldn't have to work as an illustrator, so she changed it to don't invest in Bitcoin. Though given her personality, her younger self would have done the opposite and invest anyways.
For FGO, she pre-registered but didn't have time to play it, so she only properly started around the time Shinjuku released. Because of that, Shinjuku no Archer holds a special place in her heart.
Her singing "Gyakkou" in her recent birthday live could be slight foreshadowing, but she did like the song so it can be interpreted in any way.
Pochi-mama also noticed how because she drew Ane Naru Mono: The Elder Sister-Like One, a Cthulhu Mythos-based manga, people were expecting her to draw a Foreigner-class Servant.
She also said it was hard keeping it a secret especially since she also YouTubes. Earlier in the stream, she admitted that she hasn't been streaming much since last year for that reason. She wished after submitting her work to have her memory wiped until her Servant's implementation. That way, when watching the reveal stream, she'd be like "Wow, I drew this but I don't remember drawing it."
Also, if she were to be summoned at her prime, it would definitely be now and maybe in the current outfit she is wearing.
In regards to Shuumatsu no Archer, she was kept in the dark about a lot of things so she didn't know that her Servant would be featured so prominently in the main story. Also, various new Servants would usually be introduced, but hers was revealed alone. Ever since the teaser PV dropped, her stomach had been hurting because she was worried the new chapter would flop because of her. Seeing the public's reception regarding her Servant, she's glad that didn't happen. She also heard Hina Yomiya voicing the character at the same time as everyone else.
She was also surprised her design passed review. She also thought it was a bit too much, and also saw comments of how she's just wearing string. She had no idea why it passed and assumed that if it was no good, that they'd tell her, but it was approved as-is. There were also comments about how they're not able to see certain things that should be seen, so Pochi-mama said that's the fan's job and she's looking forward to the fanarts.
She said that if you have the Servant, to view the card arts in full by removing the frames as it would slightly change the overall impression of the illustrations. She was also the one who drew the backgrounds.
She designed Archer in the perspective of a player where if you see her, you want to roll for her. It was 100% of her personal tastes. For her, she created the strongest Servant that she can think of, and full of chuunibyou vibes so she wishes for everyone to give her lots of love.
She also drew funny expressions unprompted and submitted them, and was surprised when staff asked for more. She praised them for respecting the autonomy and creativity of the creators.
Pochi-mama said designing Shuumatsu no Archer was like a dream and she had fun, thanking FGO for commissioning her.
