@AirAsiaSupport Flight AK 5197 from Sandakan to KL sat on the runway at Sandakan for two hours so far. Problems with passenger tallies STILL. Travelling with three kids aged five and under. What is compensation process please?

In 1943 2500 Aussie and Brit POWs were housed here in #Sandakan #POW Camp. A series of death marches, followed by the starvation and execution of remaining survivors followed. Only 6 of those 1943 2500 prisoners survived the war, all due to escaping. #Borneo

@carlingas4 Also, one amusing fact. The chap who was captured, Fonsecca, was of Goan descent and relatively dark skinned. The Argentines initially were confused by him as he didnt look 'British' to them.

@carlingas4 I probably know mostly the same stuff as you tbh. An Argentine officer present said that Hamilton deserved highest possible medal for courage, but due to British regulations (no senior British officer present) it didn't happen.

@carlingas4 As you suggest, the two men in question were not involved in the firefight at all, so theirs is the only account that exists of their actions.
