Last weekend was an unforgettable one for our @MaltaSeabirds project.

We celebrated #WorldOceansDay 2024 with two exciting activities which aimed to raise awareness about the importance of protecting Maltese marine ecosystems.

Over the weekend, BirdLife Malta's education team & Falko members met and opened a new chapter for the future!

This event marked the re-launch of our #Falko Youth Group thanks to the 𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 project, which is co-funded by the EU.

📢 BirdLife Malta is announcing a call to join our Falko youth group!

@Falko_BirdLifeM is a unique opportunity for youth aged from 17 to 25 years old to be part of an active community. In this community, they will get to polish their soft and professional skills through organising events and activities to connect the world with nature!

Learn to communicate, take leadership, and improve your social, digital, and management skills!

Together with youth we will directly influence and contribute to the conservation of Maltese birds and nature!

Members of #Falko will get exclusive access to boat trips, socialising events, free t-shirts, and training and many other experiences!

Today, we live in a society where young people are always being undermined and told that they are too young to understand things. The truth is that the future of this world is in the hands of the YOUth and no one else.

We invite you to be part of our Falko youth group and make a change for the world as well as yourself and be actively involved in the coordination of the activities and events that will help connect people with birds and Nature!

We then succeeded to walk to a nearby cliff's edge to listen out for the #YelkouanShearwaters coming to land to nest at sundown and watched them using a heat sensitive camera. Everyone had a great evening of exploring the rich history and nature of Malta!

On Saturday, we met up for an exciting event at @DinLArtHelwa's White Tower in the northernmost point of Malta. We had a great presentation and tour of the historically significant tower which was followed by an informative talk about local #seabirds from our @MaltaSeabirds team.

On Saturday, @Falko_BirdLifeM came together for a wildflower walk along the coast from Pembroke to Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq. With the help of a #wildflower ID guide, we managed to identify a variety of flowers as well as enjoy a nice walk along the coast. #naturewalk #youthgroup #event

On Saturday, our youth group @Falko_BirdLifeM went on a wild & windy walk around the stunning @MajjistralPark. The views from atop the headland are breathtaking, this paired with the luscious greenery of endemic flora makes Majjistral a perfect location for a weekend hike. 1/2
