A coalition of more than 100 organisations that want to change the unfair rules separating refugee families in the UK. It's time to bring #FamiliesTogether
📢 GOOD NEWS 📢
For the past 5 years, the #FamiliesTogether campaign has called on the government to change the unfair rules keeping refugee families apart.

Families belong together. This is the beautiful moment when Yohannes was reunited with his mother after more than 10 years apart 💙
After Yohannes was evacuated from Sudan, they were reunited in Belgium.
“It's a mystery to me that the UK chooses to deprive unaccompanied children of the right to be reunited with their parent.” @BishopPaulB urges the government to use its power to transform the lives of vulnerable children during the #FamilyMigration debate in the @UKHouseofLords.
In case you missed it last week: this is the powerful story of 11-year-old Wasim from Afghanistan, who is separated from his parents and siblings.

📢Good News Alert! Yesterday, the UK Government announced the decision to pause the two-tier refugee system, as a move to reduce the asylum backlog! This is a HUGE victory for people seeking asylum #RefugeeRights#AsylumSystem⬇️
Special occasions like Eid are happy times but are also hard for refugees and migrants as they can trigger grief about the loss of loved ones and past traumas
Remembering and missing my remaining loved ones in Afghanistan today, I spent Eid day giving a keynote talk at the national Physiotherapists Conference @TheACPRC advocating for displaced people and those who've experienced trauma, calling for compassion, policy changes and trauma-informed expert-led mental health services. I feel happy!
Eid Mubarak to me and other Muslims celebrating today.
A huge thank you to all the pupils and schools who created Mother's Day cards to highlight the importance of family reunion for refugee children 🧡 We love these cards from St Dunstan's Primary. #LetMeBringMyMum

#Refugee children in the #UK are still suffering trauma. They need their parents’ love and support to cope with unimaginable circumstances. Many remain separated and are without mum this #MothersDay. Call on the government to bring #FamiliesTogether. 👇

Today on #MothersDay we stand up for all mums – & against the unfair rules which cruelly separate refugee children from their parents.
Our @SchsofSanctuary programme has partners with the @FamTogetherCo to raise awareness of these harmful and unfair rules.

We'd like to thank our Year 7 students who took the time to think about refugee families over Mother's Day. It can be a difficult time for any family who can't be with their mums. A special thanks to 7B2 who made lovely cards for refugee families @SchsofSanctuary
