Nigeria may not be where we want her to be yet. We still face challenges, frustrations, and many reasons to demand better.
But Democracy Day reminds us that progress is a journey, not a destination. Today, we celebrate the resilience of our people, the freedom to hope.
June is Men's Mental Health Month.
This month, we make space.
For the conversations that don't have easy starting points.
For the weight that gets carried quietly.
For the voices that deserve to be heard.
We see you. We're here.
Be a friend. Advocate for Mental.
Thank you to our volunteers, educators, parents, community leaders, schools, PHCs, and young people who showed up, stayed committed, and made the work possible.
As the year comes to an end, we're pausing to reflect with gratitude on the impact we were able to create💚
This year looked like this:
From a community of under 2000 to over 7,000 people. Expanded from 9 to 30 communities across community hubs, schools, and PHCS.
And to close the year, we were honoured with the @Ember_mh Sparks Award for Early-Stage Community-Based Mental Health Initiatives (CBMH|s).
None of this happened in isolation.
Thank you to the organisations and partners who believed in our vision and supported us along the way.
- 150+ young adolescents trained on online gender-based violence and digital safety tools.
- 10 volunteers graduated, with our volunteer programme expanded into sector-based teams
- Mentored 3 organizations and 5 projects through their pilot phase.
- Hit Art Therapy impact milestone of 300+ direct beneficiaries through Art Xplosion (100+ at Art
Xplosion 4.0 alone)
- 100 teachers trained across 20 schools
- 2 children awarded full secondary education scholarships
It’s holiday time but for many children at Wassa IDP camp, hunger doesn’t take a break. Maple Leaf Early Years Foundation, Transitional Learning Center will be providing daily meals throughout the holiday season so the most vulnerable boys and girls don’t miss out.
Day 3 of Art xplosion 4.0
Sani Muhammad’s Mosaic Coaching Day was such an inspiring experience of self-discovery, growth, and creative expression for the children💚
Beyond being a sponsor, he’s been an avid supporter. The day was named in recognition of his impact at FAM.
Day 2
“Art speaks to one’s emotions and the core of being, it helps young people realize they matter, and can determine what a beautiful and healthy future looks like.” @yazeed_mikail
Today, at Art Xplosion, we honour that vision through the Yazid S. Mikail Upcycle Day.
💚♻️
What an incredible start to Art Xplosion 4.0! 🔥
Day 1 was a beautiful blend of creativity, expression and community filled with powerful displays of art and mental wellness.
We can’t wait to see what Day 2 brings!
