I agree. In the past, VRChat used to take down avatar search worlds, and I think they should start doing that again. They ruin a lot of the creativity and uniqueness of public avatars.

I remember when finding a cool avatar meant actually exploring avatar worlds and discovering hidden gems. Nowadays, I barely even step foot in an avatar world because everything is just a quick search away.

Not to mention, these search worlds make it even easier for people to find leaked or ripped avatars, which hurts creators who put time and effort into their work. It takes away from both the discovery experience and the creativity of the community.

The anti-AI hill is kinda funny to me.

For years people ripped models, textures, music, shaders, and entire assets from games and imported them into VRChat. Nobody really cared.

But use AI to generate a texture or image and suddenly we need to have a serious conversation about ethics and stealing from artists.

I’m not saying there aren’t valid concerns with AI but where was this energy for the last decade? 😂
