Family Club, OSC de mobilisation sociale pour la Santé, Paix, climat. Grand Prix C4D 2022, Champion Vaccination 2021, Prix Africain Leadership en Santé 2025
I dedicated Wednesday, June 3rd, to a series of field visits to several programmes and projects within the Ministry of Public Health, including the National AIDS Control Programme (NACP), the National Malaria Control Programme (NMCP), the Global Fund Subvention Coordination Unit, the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), and the National Tuberculosis Control Programme (NTBCP).
These visits allow me to stay closely connected to the realities experienced by the teams who work daily to improve our health indicators.
Everywhere I went, I took the time to speak with the staff, listen to their concerns, and ensure that working conditions are commensurate with the missions entrusted to them, given our ambition to offer every health professional a work environment conducive to professional development, performance, and innovation.
The highlight of this first day was our Family meeting, held in the form of a General Assembly of the programmes. A moment of sincere dialogue that allowed us to reaffirm the principles that must continue to guide public action: fairness, respect for hierarchy, mutual consideration, speed and objectivity in handling cases, as well as diligence, punctuality, and effective presence at work.
Many challenges remain, but I am convinced that with motivated teams, a peaceful social climate, and a shared vision, we will continue to build a more resilient, more efficient, and more people-centered health system, as requested by the Head of State, His Excellency Paul BIYA.
I will be back tomorrow. Best of luck to everyone!

Measles. Polio. Diphtheria. Diseases we thought were fading are now creeping back. The reason? Gaps in immunisation opened wide by the pandemic. Here’s how we lost ground, and what it’ll take to win it back. https://t.co/TPUyC5lSzN

Eastern equine encephalitis (EEE) was once confined to swampy pockets of the US. Now it’s appearing in more states, with no vaccine and no cure.

Sent by the Head of State, HE Paul Biya, to Geneva to work with GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance, I met with the key officials of this organization on 11 July 2025, to reaffirm Cameroon's commitment to global vaccination, in a context of testing international solidarity in health.
Several points were the focus of this high-level meeting, including the expansion of the malaria vaccine to 116 health districts, the continuation of the HPV vaccine for young boys, the upcoming measles/rubella vaccination campaign, and Cameroon's change of segment to ensure a smooth transition to self-financing of its health programmes and a better position on the international stage.
Cameroon's vaccination coverage was described as very satisfactory by GAVI authorities, who also praised the political will displayed by our President of the Republic in favor of vaccine immunization, a testimony to the growing maturity of our national health system.
Finally, I had the opportunity to have a constructive discussion with Dr. Sania Nishtar, CEO of GAVI, on the challenges and solutions for inclusive global health.
Today Cameroon is consolidating its position as a committed and influential actor in global health policies.

See that green circle? It represents 17.4 lives saved per 1,000 HPV vaccinations. But here's the bigger picture – the HPV vaccine prevents up to 90% of ALL cervical cancer cases. Sometimes the smallest interventions have the largest impact. https://t.co/4SBJdBQhbq
