This athletic looking man served a tour of duty in the United States Marine Corps from 1957 to 1959; while in the Marine Corps, he boxed regularly, winning 32 of 34 boxing bouts.
He went on to be a popular character actor in many movies and tv series, as well as a much loved supporting character in one of the most popular movie franchises of the late 70s. That franchise made sequels reaching all the way to 2006 in which he acted in each of the original movie's subsequent sequels.
