@29Darkzy@average_waffle@joe_srigley With the direction Andy Street turned that ship, there might have been a chance he could have gotten there in the next 4 or 5 years or so. Maybe even getting back on the pole at Daytona/Atlanta/Talladega later this year.
@Thechungo4814@NASCARInsights Yeah, David Pearson must have been damn good at qualifying because he’s like the only driver in the top 20 in wins to have more poles than wins.
@ndawgeighty8@JeffMillerTime@anduriltech@NASCAR Well even if you live there, you also have to pay the taxes on the value of the race car and that would come to about $80,000 and I don’t think the average American has that much money sitting in a savings account to give to the IRS. Picking the cash option is safer for taxes.
@jim_bisenius@JeffMillerTime@anduriltech@NASCAR Well, not everyone has $80,000 to pay in taxes if they win the racecar. Or the time and money to rent a flatbed trailer and drive to California to pick up the race car. Unless the winner has an immediate plan for the car, it’s more financially sensible to take the cash.
@KFB_Updates Yeah I don’t remember the last time I had a race on as background noise and didn’t really watch it. The race just feels like it’s missing something.
@OreoRanch@jeff_gluck The award has never truly been the MPD because NASCAR lets people vote up to five times a day, so the driver with the most fans might not win if their fan base didn’t vote 35 times a week for them. Imagine if we were allowed to vote 35 times a week in the presidential elections.
