In the Bible, Jesus talks about heaven and hell. He never talks about anything called purgatory. Purgatory isn’t real.
When you die, you open your eyes either in heaven or in hell. You can’t change what you didn’t believe in during your life. It’s too late.
If you believed in Jesus Christ, before you died, you will go to heaven. Whether or not you get rewards is up to the Lord, who knows your heart.
If you didn’t believe in Jesus Christ before you died, you will wake up in hell. No one can change what they believed in on earth before they died.
@Jonstebap@UcheMaryOkoli This is a metaphor for the church. The son she is giving birth to are the new believers in Jesus Christ. It is a symbol of the believing church bringing in more members. That’s why Satan wants to kill her.
Scripture directly instructs believers to lift their hands as a physical expression of prayer and worship in both the Old and New Testaments.
•Psalm 134:2: "Lift up your hands in the holy place and bless the Lord!"
•Psalm 63:4: "So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands.”
•1 Timothy 2:8: "I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling."
In the Bible, this posture typically symbolizes surrender, adoration, and reaching out to God for His help.
@CredoMilesX@TridentineBrew Why would you worship internal organs of God? How ridiculous.
What protestants can present is the life, miracles, teachings, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. That trumps any worship of his internal organs.
It doesn’t matter to me if it had been taught for 5000 years. It is wrong.
God made Mary. Mary did not make God.
Jesus said that obedience to God is more important than his mother.
Luke 11:27-28:
A woman shouts, “Blessed is the womb that bore You and the breasts at which You nursed.” Jesus replies, "On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it".
Matthew 12:46-50 (also Mark 3:31-35): When told his mother, brothers and sisters are waiting to speak to him, Jesus points to his disciples and says, “Whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother”.
In these verses Jesus says spiritual commitment and obedience to God takes precedence over family, physical bloodlines. He is not dishonoring his mother, but directing the focus to the importance of following God's will, over praising Mary.
If Jesus didn’t allow Mary to be praised, we shouldn’t either.
A lot of the people in the Old Testament are examples of what not to do. Some are examples of what to do and some are mixed and some are just what not to do. A good Bible Study enlighten a person a lot.
But the one person who said “follow me” and was a perfect example is Jesus. So rather than focusing on every Tom, Dick or Moses, Jesus wants us to follow him as our best and most perfect example.
@DEGOPer@Glennalbert@YeFutureSaint You are apparently unteachable. I’ll repeat the same verses until you learn to read and absorb them and listen to what the Lord is trying to teach you.
Matthew 5:25-26
“Or say you’re out on the street and an old enemy accosts you. Don’t lose a minute. Make the first move; make things right with him. After all, if you leave the first move to him, knowing his track record, you’re likely to end up in court, maybe even jail. If that happens, you won’t get out without a stiff fine.”
You’re over spiritualizing the Lord‘s Supper. Jesus simply said that when we partake in the Lord’s Supper that he wants us to “remember him”.
Remember him, his suffering, crucifixion and resurrection. That’s all. If we simply remember our Lord and Savior, we have honored him and worshipped him.
The woman in Revelation 12 is the body of believers. It is not Mary. It is the body of believers, giving birth to more believers. Satan tries to kill her to keep her from growing.
And if you read your Bible about what Jesus said about his mother, you would see how unimportant she is.
Jesus said that obedience to God is more important than his mother.

@judeokeyvlogs Nope. Non-denominational churches are growing 100 times faster than the RCC.
And our pews are full of Catholics, looking for truth and wanting to hear the gospel. They are tired of meaningless rituals and rules.
@KongTravels@Defensofidei I have grace and I have discernment. You are judging me and you don’t even know me.
Scouts can be respectful, but I would not say reverent.
