Inde Navarrette says a director dismissed her concerns about an intimate scene by telling her she looked beautiful.

With around 1,500 people watching, she asked to see playback so she could understand how the scene was working.

Instead of addressing her concerns, she says the director told her she looked beautiful and launched into a story about Robert Pattinson being known for his hair during Twilight.

Navarrette says she left the interaction confused and disheartened, realizing they weren’t communicating the way she thought they were.

She didn’t want to be seen as just another pretty face. She wanted people to take her seriously as an actress who understood the emotions behind a performance.

She wasn’t asking to be told she looked beautiful. She wanted to be taken seriously for her work.

@DiscussingFilm Just finished watching #Obsession give HER an acting role! One she’s a NERD and two she’s gonna knock whatever role she would get out of the park!!

[Anastasia / Fandom 🍿 @FandomCrunch]

Just finished #Obsession it’s creepy as shit. The acting lengths Inde Navarrette went through playing Nikki, is just WOW. It’s been a while with horror I’m just like WTF at the end sitting there. Definitely an ICONIC role for her, but fr One Wish Nikki is MAD unsettling!!

Watching #Obsession for the first time…I’m scared.

Absolutely no new ground. Yes, of course we will honor the original, but not by reading the same damn script?! Put that money for another animated #Moana movie respectfully, if we’re not gonna have a creative bone in our body. Overall the new live action is maybe at most is cute.

Finished the live action #Moana. It would be a lie if I said there were no moments where Catherine Laga'aia didn’t shine as Moana, I think she’s perfect in the role. What ruined this movie was them feeling chained so much to the original animated movie where they broke ->

[Anastasia / Fandom 🍿 @FandomCrunch]

Trying my damn best to not turn off the live action #Moana. Guess I’m just exhausted of these beat for beat remakes. Feels like the only one trying here is the actress they casted for Moana. Just massively disappointed so far…

Still trying to cover this goal. Anyone willing to help is appreciated.
