A new record was just set at #SothebysParis: Monet's exceptional 'Iris' painting is now the most valuable artwork ever sold at auction in France.

After a thrilling, 45-minute bidding battle, this landscape from Monet's Giverny period achieved €50 million. It was the star lot of Le Temps Retrouvé: The Schlumberger Collection, a group of 20 modern and impressionist masterpieces.

U2 has announced a 2027 global stadium tour titled “Carnaval De Luz presents: The Greatest Show On Earth.”

The tour kicks off Feb. 23 in Mexico City with six dates on the calendar for now, although U2 plans to add more and perform through 2027 “and beyond.”

Bono said in a statement: "The Greatest Show on Earth? Now that’s a throwdown. It’s a dare, to ourselves as much as anyone, to try and have the best night of anybody’s life. A bit of showman, a bit of shaman, a riot of color, unreasonable guitar, bass and drums, and tunes you can hold onto. Because if people are gonna show up, we certainly are.”

The Norm entrance jokes on Cheers were famously tough to write.
George Wendt delivered 200+ of them over 11 seasons. As the show’s popularity grew, so did expectations. Writers said the real genius wasn’t always on the page; it was Wendt’s physical comedy, delivery, and timing.
