Did you catch the Northern Lights last night?Our ships certainly did,the aurora borealis provided a spectacular backdrop to our Offshore Patrol Vessels while conducting Maritime Defence and Security Operations in Ireland’s Exclusive Economic Zone.

The NS Fleet has been exercising their Gunnery skills over the past few weeks. LÉ WILLIAM BUTLER YEATS, LÉ GEORGE BERNARD SHAW and LÉ AOIBHINN over the course of their Maritime Defence and Security Operations patrol took the opportunity to exercise the ship's weapons systems.

On Friday, 7th November, Commodore Michael Malone laid a wreath during the Annual Deceased Members Parade, honouring all those who served and are no longer with us.
A Mass service was held beforehand to remember our shipmates with respect and gratitude. ⚓🇮🇪
