Why is it that there are no police checkpoints. where officers stop vehicles or demand money on the road from Abuja to Kaduna, yet there are more than 20 checkpoints between Benin and Warri?

Abuja to Kaduna is about 250 km, while Benin to Warri is just 100 km.

Officer cadet is competitive, and they take only a few per state, and that doesn't mean the army don't follow merit base. I applied to course 28 (DSSC28 2024), and I was on the reserve, and I never got any Godfather or someone to call.

I’m currently in a situation where someone is genuinely praying for me to get a better offer. Sometimes I go back to my village just to hear the pure, original Ijaw spoken in the creeks. If not for the people still living in those remote villages, our dialect might have completely disappeared by now. Those of us in the cities are mostly speaking a diluted version of it 😆

Enjoy life because it is more fragile and shorter than we often realize. None of us will be here forever, so every day is an opportunity to live with purpose. Love deeply. Learn continuously because growth never truly ends. Allow yourself to evolve through experiences, mistakes, and lessons, knowing each phase of life is shaping who you are becoming.
Do not waste your energy worrying about trivial matters or carrying negativity that adds no value to your life. Protect your peace. Choose progress over comparison and gratitude over complaint. Spend your time studying what matters, thinking critically, creating boldly, and teaching others what you have learned. Knowledge shared is never wasted. Start truly living your life, not just existing. Take responsibility for your dreams and pursue them with discipline and faith. Remember that you can never be overeducated or over-poor. Life is a gift. Use it well.
