🚨 £200,000 TO TACKLE ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR IN BRAINTREE — JUST AS OPERATION VANGUARD LAUNCHES

Interesting timing.

Just as Operation Vanguard launches in Braintree, we now learn that more than £200,000 of government funding has been secured to tackle anti-social behaviour hotspots across Essex including Braintree town centre.

But hang on…

We thought there weren’t any problems in Braintree?

We’ve repeatedly heard how safe the town is and how concerns are supposedly being exaggerated.

Yet Essex Police now says the main issues being targeted in Braintree include:

➡️ Public order offences
➡️ Street drinking
➡️ Anti-social behaviour

The new funding will pay for extra high-visibility police patrols, community safety patrols, youth outreach and targeted days and nights of action.

It comes at the same time Operation Vanguard has launched locally, bringing another increased focus on policing and public safety.

So why all the extra resources if there’s nothing to worry about?

Braintree already has Operation Dial, Safer Streets Braintree, CCTV, street wardens, Operation Minerva and other community-safety schemes.

And now another £200,000 is being pumped into tackling anti-social behaviour hotspots.

Nobody is saying every incident is connected to the same issue.

But residents have every right to ask questions when they’re repeatedly told there is little to be concerned about while more patrols, more operations and more money keep being announced.

£200,000 extra. Operation Vanguard. Street drinking. Public-order offences.

Perhaps the people raising concerns about Braintree deserve to be listened to rather than dismissed.
