Google offered me an internship. Passed every round. Can't start. Uber did too. Pulled it last week. Both blocked by export licenses. Not my skills. My passport. Uber's CEO is Iranian. His company can't hire me because I am too. #LiftTheHold#USCISPause
They survived the bullets in January. Now they're living in the aftermath: grief, executions, an economy collapsing daily, and unofficial reports of rising suicide. The killing didn't stop when the streets went quiet. #IranMassacre#FreeIran#JavidShah
Across every major US visa fraud category: fake documents, fake degrees, fake marriages, Iranians aren't the problem. Its top universities are rigorous and verified by U.S. institutions directly. The organized fraud rings that exist in other pipelines don't operate at scale here.
Today, four U.S. Senators, Chris Van Hollen, Angela Alsobrooks, Mark Warner, and Tim Kaine, publicly challenged USCIS over its blanket pause on immigration and citizenship decisions affecting nationals from 39 countries.
Their letter says what thousands of legal immigrants have been saying for more than six months: people are being left in limbo based solely on their nationality. Green cards are frozen. Work permits are delayed. Citizenship cases are stalled. Families are trapped in uncertainty. (Chris Van Hollen Senate)
The senators asked a simple question that USCIS still has not answered: How can an indefinite, nationality based pause be justified when applicants have already followed the law, paid the fees, completed background checks, and trusted the legal immigration system? (Chris Van Hollen Senate)
This is not about politics.
It is about fairness.
It is about due process.
It is about thousands of students, researchers, engineers, doctors, and families whose lives have been put on hold without a decision.
Thank you @ChrisVanHollen@SenatorWarnock? No. Thank you @ChrisVanHollen@MarkWarner@timkaine and @SenatorAlsobrooks for demanding answers and standing up for legal immigrants caught in this crisis.

Attitudes are even more striking:
68% want religious rules excluded from law
72% oppose the mandatory hijab law
58% don't believe in hijab at all
73% (leaked culture ministry survey) want separation of religion and state
35% drink alcohol despite the ban
Iran, turns out to be the wildest secularization story of the 21st century. A theocracy that's accidentally creating the most post-Islamic society in the Middle East. A senior Iranian cleric admitted 50,000 out of 75,000 mosques have effectively closed due to no attendance.
By GAMAAN's 2023 wave (Netherlands research group, sample size 150,000+), roughly half of Iranians identify as Atheist, Agnostic, None, Spiritual, or "Belief in God without religion." Half. In the Islamic Republic.
This is the reality that often gets lost in the debate.
Most people affected by the #USCISpause are not trying to circumvent the system. They followed the law, passed extensive vetting, paid substantial fees, earned degrees, built careers, and contributed to American communities.
Many are researchers, engineers, physicians, scientists, students, and professionals whose work benefits the United States every day.
Freezing their futures without explanation harms families, innovation, and America’s ability to attract the world’s best talent.

@NPR just dropped a huge story exposing how USCIS cruel, unlawful adjudication pause is tearing lives apart, specifically highlighting the immense anxiety and limbo it's forcing on Iranian nationals who did everything right, followed every rule, maintained their lawful status but they are now just left stranded.
With nearly 20 federal court rulings already smashing this policy down and exposing top-level non-compliance, the pressure is at an all-time high.

NPR just highlighted what thousands of legal Iranian immigrants have been living through for more than six months.
Not because they broke the law.
Not because they failed a background check.
Not because their applications were denied.
Simply because their cases were put on hold.
Students cannot plan their future. Researchers cannot continue their work. Professionals fear losing their jobs, homes, health insurance, and legal status.
America has every right to vet applicants. But endless silence is not vetting. Indefinite limbo is not a decision.
Read the story and hear the human cost of the USCIS pause.

More than six months ago, USCIS stopped processing thousands of cases filed by legal immigrants.
Since then, people have lost jobs. Lost income. Lost health insurance. Some are now at risk of losing their homes.
The government says these individuals require additional vetting. But if they are truly a concern, why leave them inside the United States indefinitely instead of reviewing their cases and making decisions?
Students. Engineers. Researchers. Doctors.
People who followed every rule should not be punished for doing things the right way.
Six months is not a pause.
It is a crisis.

49% of Iranian-American households earn over $100K. Over 25% hold a Master's or PhD, highest among 67 ethnic groups. 50% are in professional/managerial roles, more than any other group in America. And we're the ones being banned. #LiftTheHold
@RandPaul You keep posting this nonsenese. You do know that in 1996 Congress made is unlawful for any undocumented immigrant receive financial help (welfare) from the US. SO, why do you keep repeating this lie?
