.@WA_Police led a float at the @PerthRoyalShow with kids dressed as prisoners. In a country with a racist criminal justice system that actually does lock up 10 year olds, what kind of message does this send? Prisons are not fun places to be celebrated.

There is NO need to arrest people for the tiniest infraction, use fines. But if you really love arrests, there is NO need to handcuff (on the ground) everyone. This is NOT normal. It's only normal in a police state.

@K_KalantarZadeh It could be a general problem, beyond academia. Conformism is high, people watch and feel watched. Dobbing others is widespread. No freedom of speech. Those who dare to stand out get their heads chopped off in all fields.
