I don’t often share blogs (or anything really) but read this by @SciInTheMaking - spot on. Students have to trust us as *professionals*. Worth a read before September reset! 👏
I'm doing a couple of giveaways to celebrate the upcoming new school year! This first #giveaway is for my book on #behaviour. Like and retweet this post to enter (UK only). Winner picked next Saturday. Please share! Thank you. #freebie
Here’s an after school revision session on thesis statements that I’ve been using. This is the first in an ‘essay series’, designed to really break down the components of a written response to help students master each part. Worked quite well! More to come soon. Use/chuck/change as always. Thank you to @FaridaMili for her AIC thesis statement included here! @Team_English1

@SPryke2 Hi @SPryke2 - would you be so kind as to share the slides from this presentation please? I’d love to share the idea with our staff and I know you had multiple examples across different subject areas. Apologies if you have already done this - I couldn’t see them on your Dropbox.
A quick 🧵on standardisation vs moderation - some thoughts for Heads of Department / those who have responsibility for assessment. Let’s talk about the purpose of each, and ways to carry them out successfully. But let’s also be brief, because ya know, time is limited! 1/-
@adamboxer1 Yes please! We are very lucky in that our KS4 have iPads so they open up a blank page, write on it as though it’s a mini whiteboard, and then I get Apple Classroom up and project them all on to the board to discuss further.
Mini whiteboards for KS3 though.
A thoroughly detailed presentation on how to use dialogic talk to support students oracy and literacy. The two images below are scaffolds for Y7 and Y12. Modelling thinking as a geography teacher (expert) for how to think as a geography student.
Last week, loads of teachers got in touch to ask me how our school has generated such a positive culture around observations. This is no small question, so in THIS WEEK's EPISODE OF TBFM we've done a deep dive, covering dozens of points crucial to any senior or middle leader looking to build such a culture.
Tune in and share here 👇👇

I think this is right. We have ‘5 core pedagogies’ for implementing our English curriculum which incorporate techniques like MWB routines, T&T, visualisers, and a few other high impact strategies.
