Guess whose harvesting this week ?๐
I've decided to rotate this season for soil health. Went from maize to soy bean and I've zero regrets.A happy farmer. Thanks to @FarmSolHoldings for the guidance.

Not having access to mechanisation and latest technology is one of the many barriers we face as new farmers. One of the easiest ways to gain access is through pooling of resources; such as renting equipment and then sharing between farmer colleagues in my region. #grainfarmer

Crop rotation is critical and a key in ensuring the longevity of sustainable crop production, and a must-do to achieve a good return on investments. Now we monitor and wait for harvest.
Crop rotation in full swing. I'm taking a break from non-GMO maize an planting Soybean n this season. Fortunately for me, Soybean is also one of @Farmsol commodities and can still continue under their incubation programme.
Mono - cropping which refers to planting the same crop year in and year out is not sustainable.ย
It can lead to soil degradation, a build-up of diseases and weed problems that will negatively impact production in the long run.

New week, new goals.
I'll be preparing to plant a new crop. I've put maize on hold this season so I can rotate my crops.ย This means ย planting different crops back-to-back on the same plot of land. It has numerous benefits like improving soil health, amongst others.
982 smallholder farmers, 44000 hectares of grain, R60 million in profits. The black-owned farmer development company @FarmSolHoldings may be only five years old, but it has many milestones to celebrate with the farming community of Mzansi. https://t.co/jN8wqzkkYe
Happy birthday to the best agricultural company.
Farming can be a long and lonely road but if travelled together with supportive partners, success that guarantees our future and those of generations to come is assured.
Thanks Farmsol for believing in young people. ๐๐๐

While business loans can be a quick way to scale your business, few people consider the terms after the notification hits their bank account.
We are dedicated to helping smallholder & aspiring farmers understand loan agreements & how they can use those terms to their advantage.
Lack of mechanisation and the latest technology should not be a barrier for aspiring farmers.
There are several ways to gain access such as pooling resources to buy equipment that can be shared between farmers and farming communities.
Our Women in Agriculture programme empowers women through expansion of capital resources in the agriculture sector. In turn, they are creating more food secure communities.
