Hi, I'm Farmer Bob, a first-generation farmer in Princeton, Kansas. ๐พ
This is the home of Farmer Bob's: whole grains weighed and packed on our farm, and 100% beef tallow.
Follow along.
@DaLump4 Tallow's naturally shelf stable. Keep the lid on and store it somewhere cool and dark, and it'll keep a good long while. If it ever smells off, toss it, but that's rare.
Frying the turkey this year? ๐ฆ Fry it in 100% beef tallow.
30 lb bucket: enough for a standard turkey fryer. $134.99 with free UPS Ground, straight from a Kansas farmer. Order by Nov 18 for Thanksgiving.
@sanmaz@sanmaz Thank you! It's not whipped. It's firm at room temp, more like cold butter. A sturdy metal spoon works best, or set the tub somewhere warm for a bit, and it melts down fast once it hits the pan.
@JustAVet4 Ha, no, you sure don't! A few scoops handles a steak and a pan of fries. The 7 lb tub covers a whole lot of dinners, and you can strain it and reuse it.
@1nobodyhome Great question. Beef tallow fries hot and clean, gives you crisp skin, and doesn't leave a beefy taste on the bird. Folks have fried poultry in it for generations. Strain it after and reuse it a few more times. Happy Thanksgiving.
About 4 gallons of frying fat for $134.99, shipped free. ๐ฆ
One 30 lb bucket of 100% beef tallow is enough for a standard turkey fryer. Order by Nov 18 for Thanksgiving.
@Sharpinsky Ha! Love the Kilgore line. We don't sell by the barrel, but the 30 lb bucket is about 4 gallons, free shipping, sized for a turkey fryer. Happy Thanksgiving.
@96f20P_JRoToole Fair question. The tub is food-grade plastic so it ships clean and stays sealed. Once it's home you can scoop it into whatever vessel you like for the kitchen.
@Lukyenough Ha, I hear you. That $134.99 is a 30 lb bucket with free shipping, sized for a turkey fryer. Strain it after and you can reuse it for several more cooks, so it's not a one-and-done oil buy. Happy Thanksgiving.
@PepperMoirraine@GaryWHall_2 Totally fair, it's not cheap. That's why we tell folks to strain it after the fry, so one bucket covers several cooks. Glad you like the idea.
@Oog_dog_ Fair enough, there's more than one good way to cook a bird. If you do fry one this year, tallow's a solid pick, and you can strain it and reuse it for several more cooks. Happy Thanksgiving.
@JayLeach454745 Fair comparison. Lard is pork fat, ours is pure beef tallow, and shipping to your door is free. Strain it after you fry and you can reuse it a few more times.
@Dredpiraterobe2 Fair point. That $44.99 includes free shipping, and it's pure beef tallow. Strain it after you fry and you can reuse it for several more steak nights.
@lobojonz Fair enough. Most folks use peanut oil once and toss it. Tallow you can strain and reuse for several more fries, and shipping to your door is free. Happy Thanksgiving.
@fweedomwuver@Phantom2Phlyer Good question. Folks have reused frying fat for generations. Let it cool, strain out the bits, and keep it covered in the fridge or a cool spot. If it smells off or turns dark and foamy, toss it.
