@islandviewag@MikeOnMachines When I see a big tractor from the 80's I wonder how many sleepless nights went into paying for it. Someone worked pretty hard to make it keep ahead of interest or opportunity costs. They sure built some good ones.
@WheatPete listened to last week's podcast. If your client is banding in a similar zone each year, we have seen a pH drop. Depending on the soil pH surrounding that zone, it can amplify the "corn row syndrome" effect in notill conditions. Take a separate soil test in/out of zone.
Bullish corn, @MaizeingPete is likely going to put an 8 instead of a 6 in front of the corn price if we hide his glasses on him. Keep the carrots away from him too.
@KeithWells6@farmerschneck Being able to scale the drill, fertilizer and grain cart may be one of the best ways to be more efficient with inputs. I hope these will get some program attention some day.
The weed-free period is critical in corn & soybean production. Early weed competition can reduce yield potential before visible symptoms appear. Keeping fields clean during this window helps protect yield and maximize crop performance. #Corn#Soybean#Agronomy#CropManagement
@KeithWells6@kevinki16180099 Haven't seen any in Quinte area yet, Kieth. It's drying off in the morning quick here which is good. @WheatPete found some in his area under a shade or low air circulation spot in the field that kept the leaves damp a little longer.
@middlesexfarmer@WheatPete It could be a blessing in disguise through pollination. Once pollination occurs and the flowers close, it is a lot more tolerant to disease. Hopefully the long range forecast is wrong and we get some rain during grain fill. I have the same feeling you do with grain fill/drought.
@KelseyBanks Congratulations! Wonderful to have someone with your experience and background to be recognized with the https://t.co/ctRE5XNiLP. designation!
The current strip rust map tells us it is here and developing. Conditions are optimum for infection the next few days in many areas in Ontario. Listen to @WheatPete for details!
Stripe rust is appearing in Ontario wheat. @WheatPete explains why scouting is critical to protect yield potential and how to time fungicide applications. Check out Wheat School.

@farmerschneck Aulari are great, client says you have to run others before you seethe value in Aulari. The bearing stub is the "shear pin", easy to change, carry a few of them. No problem getting a fert band 4" deep. Your planter will pull harder.
@BradLam74471068 Just doing nutrient management at an Aumish near Stirling. They have it functional over a drilled well, brand new I believe. I'll see what I can find out, looked brand new. Timber Top in Foxboro don't have them, just checked.
