@Radmore_farm The only way to make this fair is legislation where the producer gets a guaranteed percentage of the retail price. We are all familiar with Fair Trade but not for UK farmers. The market price must reflect the actual cost of production. That’s all farmers need.
@DunstewGerald@SuellaBraverman When the last Labour government left office in 2010 there was the infamous note from Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Liam Byrne saying “there’s no money.”
The job of a new government is to come up with new ideas that produce improvements. No evidence of that.
If you fail to beat the current, you will drown. If you get too close, you will be bitten. If you are too weak, you will be eaten.'
Like most cowboys or ranchers, I have had many humbling experiences reminding me of the vastness and power of the earth and its creatures.

Because here doesn't care. The river doesn't care if you can swim. The snake doesn't care how much you love your children, and the wolf has no interest in your dreams.
From the TV show 1883:
I think cities have weakened us, as a species. Mistakes have no consequences there. Step into the road without looking and the carriage merely stops or swerves. The only consequence, an angry driver. But here, there can be no mistakes.

All environmental problems solved in a generation thanks to human beings stupidly making themselves sterile. You hadn’t thought about that as a solution had you Greta Thunberg? No need to panic after all 👍😊
As the population is going to dramatically shrink from infertility, farmers won’t need to produce so much food. It could be a win for the planet too 🌱 🌎
And this is why the growing army of regenerative farming evangelists (you can’t tell them anything because they always know better) have got it so seriously wrong as I suspected they had.
But no, like so many of the ideas human beings come up with thinking they’re being terribly clever when they interfere with nature, spraying fields with glyphosate is a really terrible idea.
… especially ever pernicious and vexatious weeds?
The ground is sprayed with a herbicide called glyphosate which kills everything. So far so good the new seeds get a head start and minimal carbon is released from the soil. Marvellous. How green and how clever.
Regenerative Farming means no ploughing, minimal disturbance of the soil so no carbon released. “No Till” is the phrase that’s used.
But when a regenerative farmer wishes to plant crop seeds how can she/he give the new plants a competitive advantage over what’s in the ground
@1GarethWynJones As an Englishman farming in Wales I count myself as a Welsh farmer. We need to step it up a bit lads. The French government and even the mighty EU is nervous of French farmers. They don’t nancy about in the slow lane. 🏴 💪🏻
