Meet the founders of @Farmony1 🌱
Here we share an overview of the #Radix Growing Platform and discuss how our own ‘Connect’ micro climate monitoring software can super charge the industry leading #VerticalFarming solution from @sananbio

@LouiseStephen9@theapplefarmer We’ll agree to differ on the future of global food supply 🌱 Your mind appears to be pretty closed on the topic. As I said from the start, Vertical Farming will only be part of the solution, but likely an important part.
@theapplefarmer@LouiseStephen9 Need to get back to you on the energy etc so drop us a mail [email protected] but in an 8 Layer System: Raft size 180 (2 rafts per layer) x 8: 2880 Basil plants per 28 day seed to harvest cycle per module @ approx 18-24 grams per plant. Footprint: 1 metre x 1.3 metres.
@theapplefarmer@TaeSavesLives I’m just a little unsure about your alternative. Ireland cannot produce enough food for it’s population. We currently fly produce from the other side of the world, which is quite likely, hydroponically grown. Step 1: replace this produce with locally grown produce.
@theapplefarmer@TaeSavesLives Vertical Farming is not THE solution, but it is PART of a possible solution which must be considered. Supplementing, complimenting and offering much needed differentiation opportunities for Irish producers.
@theapplefarmer@TaeSavesLives Could vertical farming help avoid Brexit supply issues? https://t.co/wPwUJ4TWHh This vertical farm in Tipp is now replacing imports of Basil (ex Israel, Kenya) creating local jobs, re-utilising existing, previously dormant infrastructure.
We had @Farmony1 on @TeamGBS1 - now look what we've started!
Oishii NJ, USA company focused on indoor vertical strawberry farming raised $50 million funding. SPARX Group’s Mirai Creation Fund II joined investors @Sony Innovation Fund, PKSHA Technology and @socialstarts
That’s me on the right, in the blue hairnet btw. This is what UTD supporters have become during the transition. Food Tech Entrepreneur’s. All about formation. VAR wouldn’t stand a chance.
Our network of Vertical Farms is growing! Our latest containerised build arrives this morning in the West of Ireland. With the challenges of both Brexit and COVID now abundantly clear, growing on site for this manufacturing plant, was an obvious but proactive next step.
