Being in the thick of this, its out of control. We've resisted the pressure thus far. Kids are playing multiple sports. Refusing to buy 2 bats, sliding mitts, etc. Kids just want to be with their friends. Lots of this is just feeding parent egos.
BREAKING: Four-Star WR Travis Johnson has Committed to Michigan, he tells me for @rivals
The 6’4 190 WR from Chesapeake, VA chose the Wolverines over Penn State and South Carolina

Hot off the press!! ➡️ Post-Acute Concussion-Related Differences in Neuromotor Control Measured Using a Low-Cost Movement Assessment System: A Feasibility Study | Published in International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy. Great work Jacob! https://t.co/l83NMUHBoH
While watching Swamp Kings on @netflix Florida linebacker Brandon Siler plays against South Carolina with a torn meniscus but can’t move and rendered ineffective. He’s eventually removed from the game.
Point of emphasis: showing toughness while making a difference is admirable but a player on the field to exhibit toughness while performance is below the point of effectiveness is most likely hurting the team, player and chance to win.
Well, finally can confirm on this paper, it exists. Had a HS athlete come in after posterior shoulder labral repair for UE RTS testing. 5/5 MMT in all planes and cleared. Biodex Isokinetic testing showed 20% deficit and 30% deficit on ER/IR, respectively. https://t.co/qkCxfevgyc
Is this QT autograft love affair a fad or are we living with this forever? I’m still a HUGE fan of a good PTG autograft and like a QT better than a HS. Not sure I like a QT autograft as a primary choice in a 17 year old athlete.
I am going to share my treatment approach to low back pain:
1. Identify what movement(s) hurt.
2. Stop doing that movement(s) into pain.
3. Start slowly reintroducing same movement while reiterating for them to avoid pain.
4. Load as tolerated.

@LenMacPT But I think that doing a con-Ed course just for a resume builder or to get ahead of others is a waste of time and money if it is not something your are truly interested in learning
@LenMacPT I think it could be helpful if the con-ed is something you are truly interested in and don’t get a lot of exposure to it in school. For example, we don’t get a lot of sports curriculum or strength training principles in our curriculum and a con-edcourse could help fill those gaps
I once had an athlete who went a trainer for special "injury prevention training"
They were always injured and eventually quit
Mini bands and foam pads won't get it done. You have to actually load and stress the body in training to make it resilient
Can't be afraid to train
If you think you’re going to know what you want to know after PT school, you’ll be disappointed.
If you think you’re going to know what you want to know after residency/fellowship/con ed, you’ll be disappointed.
It’s a mindset.
