I received with sadness and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah the news of the passing of Dr. Adamu Mohammed Fika, CFR, Zaura Kura of Fika, on Thursday, 6th August 2026.
On Friday, 7th August 2026, I joined his family, friends, and associates at his funeral to pay our final respects to a remarkable patriot and distinguished public servant.
As the pioneer Director-General and Clerk Designate of the National Assembly and later Chairman of the National Assembly Service Commission, Dr. Fika played a defining role in laying the administrative foundation of our legislature.
I had the privilege of working with him
during the Third Republic, when I served as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, and I remember him as a calm, disciplined and highly professional administrator whose commitment to duty earned the respect of all.
Until his passing, he continued to serve the parliamentary community as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Council of Retired Clerks and Secretaries of the National Assembly, reflecting his lifelong dedication to the institution he helped to build.
On behalf of my family, the Kwankwasiyya Movement, members of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC and our colleagues of the 1992–1993 National Assembly, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, the people of the Fika Emirate, the Government and people of Yobe State, the leadership and staff of the National Assembly, and all Nigerians mourning this great loss.
May Almighty Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings, admit him into Aljannatul Firdaus, and grant his family and loved ones the strength and patience to bear this irreparable loss. - RMK

One of the biggest things you can do for yourself is to take full responsibility for your life. Do something every day that your future self will thank you for. Make money, protect your health, keep learning, choose your relationships wisely & avoid high expectations from others

A citizen leader is not defined by a title, position, or political office. A citizen leader is anyone who chooses responsibility over excuses, service over self-interest, and action over apathy.
They don't wait for change; they become the change. They lead with integrity, inspire through example, and leave every community better than they found it.
The question isn't whether you're a leader.
The question is: What kind of citizen are you becoming?
The next cohort for the @DawisuAcademy's Citizen Leader virtual course (in collaboration with @getDistinction) will begin tomorrow August 1st, you can still register to participate!

It was a profound honour to join fellow party members at the special affirmation ceremony of His Excellency, Peter Obi, as the Presidential Candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 general elections.
I am particularly humbled and deeply honoured by my ratification as the party’s Vice Presidential Candidate.
I extend my sincere gratitude to the National Leader of the NDC, Senator Seriake Dickson, and all other leaders for this bold and visionary decision. It clearly reflects the NDC’s unwavering commitment to national unity, democratic consolidation, and purposeful leadership as we prepare for the 2027 elections. - RMK
Alhamdulillah!
I am delighted to announce that His Excellency, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo has been selected as our Kano NDC Gubernatorial Candidate for the upcoming elections.
Similarly, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna will contest for the Kano Central Senatorial Seat.
This decision was made in the spirit of equity, fairness, loyalty, and competence — values that remain central to our party and Kwankwasiyya’s progress and unity.
As we proceed with today’s affirmation exercise, I pray for a seamless, peaceful, and successful process. May Almighty Allah grant us resounding victory in the forthcoming elections.
Ameen. - RMK
Kwankwaso has always been a superior politician to Atiku by any metric.
Atiku’s strength has always been financial. He leverages the party structures after hijacking the candidacy through bought primaries.
Kwankwaso has always been a grassroots politician, building a cult-like following for decades without giving anybody ShiShi.
In a saner climate, there would be no debate here.
Fellow Nigerians,
It is time for every eligible Nigerian — young and old, in the cities and in the villages, at home and in the diaspora to take two decisive steps:
1. Register to vote with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) without delay.
2. Register with the African Democratic Congress (ADC). - RMK
When he took over, there were plans for gas power plants in Kaduna and Kano as part of the AKK project. He abandoned those and awarded the contract for Gwagwalada only. Today, he’s talking about 1,000 MW in Plateau. Tinubu clearly has no real commitment to the core North!
Today, I joined leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and other committed democrats at a world press conference to strongly condemn the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) brazen and unacceptable partisanship.
I fully endorse the position of the gathering: In 2027, Nigerians must be allowed to freely choose their leaders from a diverse range of political parties. The electoral umpire has no right to impose a single candidacy on Africa’s largest and most vibrant democracy. - RMK
President Tinubu may have hoped to turn Kano into a one party state, not through meaningful development or uplifting the people, but through political scheming. That approach misunderstands Kano completely. From the days of NEPU to the era of Santsi da Tabo, Kano has never been, and will never be, a one-party state. Kano is not Lagos, Oga master strategist!
Kano is the home of radical, conscious politics. We do not oppose for the sake of opposition; we oppose to demand better governance, fairness, and accountability.
What exactly has been done for Kano by Tinubu's administration to justify expecting unanimous support? When concerns were raised about the concentration of projects in Lagos and appointments skewed along narrow lines, those concerns were ignored and all we got were insults.
Leadership is earned through fairness and impact, not imposed through strategy. If Kano is denied development, then Kano will respond at the ballot. It’s as simple as that.
As the saying goes, “Power is not given to those who demand loyalty, but to those who earn trust.”
