Anyone who knows me knows how much I enjoy playing vintage base ball (1864 rules). The game and the people I share the field with mean the world to me.
Thanks @HeatherLose and The Tennessee Conservationist Magazine for publishing my piece.

I can’t think of many better places to open up a season than at Shiloh National Military Park on the 157th anniversary of the battle (and of the ballgame the soldier played afterward). What a majestic and beautiful place to play.
The Rag-Tags spent a wonderful evening playing ball on a dirt infield and sharing the love of the game with the kids. Thank you Nolensville Baseball / South Nashville Little League Baseball for inviting us!
We were bested by the @QuickstepsVBBC yesterday 6-4 in an exciting match on the Carnton lawn.
Down 6-0 the Farriers hammered back to within 2 before relinquishing the game ball to Spring Hill captain (and birthday boy) Rocky “Stonewall” Jackson.
Next game 8/26 at Bicentennial
