Ok I’ll stop ranting now about this now. Just very frustrated and worried about figuring this big change out with zero warning. My autism and accessibility mind set is panicking and upset about the change with figma 🤯
From looking through the search for “figma drafts” those who work at figma, not on the comms team are having to reply to comments and tweets about concerned users about the migration of drafts. This should not be happening.
If anything, this launch has been poorly executed.
This is why user research, talking and speaking to a wide variety of users is really important to make sure marginalised communities, less technologically advanced or those in places in the world who don’t have access to certain payment methods still have access to your product.
Something we will get back to post release. Or I have to be grateful that we’ve got colors and fonts that pass basic accessibility standards. Let alone screen readers.
@figma you’re making a big mistake with deleting drafts. And I’m losing my trust with you.

Accessibility, equity, WCAG etc isn’t just about colours or each it’s making sure that as many users face as least barriers as possible when using your product. It’s goes so much deeper. So many companies I’ve worked for, have diminished accessibility as an after thought. Or
PSA: Figma removes the ability to share editable files in drafts for free. 🤑
The only option to collaborate with others for free now is using a new Starter team (3 file limit), which they conveniently avoid mentioning in docs (below) and instead tell you to pay more.
Stonks 📈
@Damian_Kidd@figma And making me lose trust in an industry standard product we have to use for work…. I migrated from sketch during Covid and now I’m like 🥴 very dark UX & psychology here.
@Damian_Kidd@figma Like I get it, they’re a business and need to make money, but also I don’t have all the money in the world to pay for something outside of work where I’m exploring, experimenting or have case studies for interviews etc. Very poorly explained
