Mawlawi Amanuddin Mansoor, a senior Tajik commander of the Taliban and the current governor of Helmand, told people in his home province of Badakhshan that, regardless of sectarian differences, he welcomed Iran’s resistance and alleged victory against the United States and Israel in the ongoing war. He referenced an Islamic tradition in which the Prophet Muhammad expressed approval when the Christian Byzantine Empire defeated the pagan Sassanian Empire.
The remarks also reflect a broader Taliban perspective, not only toward Iran, but toward Shia communities, whom they have historically not regarded as equal in religious standing.
Mansoor also criticised alleged Takfiri groups, specifically naming Islamic State and Hizb ut-Tahrir. He accused them of attacking Muslims for supporting Iran, which they label as apostate, arguing that while Iran is engaged in fighting "infidels", these groups instead align themselves with those same "infidels".

Despite this, he sought to reassure the public, stating that the Taliban would defend the country “with their blood” and warning that any opposing forces entering Afghan territory would face severe retaliation.
He also claimed that Pakistan’s bombardment of Afghanistan had been carried out under orders from the United States.
