KAS aspirants in J&K are facing a double whammy. On one hand a deeply flawed reservation policy. On the other hand, a harsh age cap. Before 2019 the age limit was 37 for the general category and 40+ for reserved categories. Today it is reduced to 32 with just 6 attempts.
While states like UP, MP, Rajasthan and Bihar allow up to 40 years with unlimited attempts, J&K continues to restrict its youth. After years of delays and uncertainty, this is outright injustice.
For God’s sake don’t punish the youth.
Restore the pre-2019 age criteria.
Also, J&K is the only place where we have no private sector, no corporate presence or manufacturing base and Govt is the primary source of employment.
@OmarAbdullah I promise the youth will join your Marathon next time if you will solve these youth issues.

JKPSC CCE 2025 The Biggest Injustice to Aspirants.
JKPSC held the exam yesterday without granting the age relaxation that the elected Govt had already cleared and once again it is the general category that has been hit the hardest. Out of 22,573 enrolled, 8,841 didn’t appear and the majority of those absent were general-category aspirants disqualified not by merit, but by an arbitrary 32-year age cap.
Meanwhile only 30 Open Merit posts exist yet reserved-category candidates can compete for these seats too. Reserved aspirants are capped at 35.
But a general-category aspirant aged 33, 34, 35, preparing for years cannot even sit in the exam.
What level-playing field is this?
This is systemic exclusion.
Add to that the chaos of flights being cancelled across India, leaving many aspirants stranded yet JKPSC still refused to postpone the exam.
Even after the Govt’s relaxation file was cleared, the Commission acted like it came from another planet. What heaven would have fallen if they postponed the exam by even a week?
This entire episode reeks of Arbitrariness in policy. Violation of legitimate expectation. Unequal treatment among similarly placed candidates. Administrative negligence. Denial of equal opportunity in Open Merit
In my opinion, this can be easily challenged in court under constitutional and service-law principles. The future of thousands has been compromised.

Requesting @ShariqJReyaz sir if he can guide these helpless aspirants, please come forward. The aspirants truly need you.

With utmost respect to the Hon’ble LG J&K @OfficeOfLGJandK ; while a crucial meeting is still underway, statements attributed to delegated authorities are triggering panic among thousands of youth.

Considering massive flight cancellations and stranded aspirants across the country, deferment of the exam is the only humane, administrative and responsible step at this moment.

If this news is planted or old ,it must be rebutted.
If not, clarity , corrective action are and a CLEAR DEFERMENT ORDER from JKPSC are urgently needed. Anxiety is mounting. Please intervene and settle this without delay.

Casual attitudes and taking matters lightly at the @CM_JnK level will not work. If CM @OmarAbdullah was genuinely serious about the issue concerning young men, why wasn’t the age-relaxation proposal submitted much earlier? Why was it sent just 3–4 days before the exams, despite knowing it would not be approved due to the procedures involved? The CM should take responsibility for the inconvenience and frustration caused to the youth on this account.
