THE AI CYBERSECURITY DISRUPTION FEAR CHEAT SHEET The vicious selloff in cybersecurity stocks after Anthropic dropped Claude Code Security last week is textbook headline panic. $CRWD -8%, $OKTA -9%, $NET -8%, $RBRK -8%, $ZS -5,5%, $S -5%, $PANW -2% and $FTNT -2% Investors freaked: “AI will scan code, find bugs, auto-patch — who needs traditional cyber tools anymore?” Wrong conclusion. Claude Code Security is a solid dev feature — it scans codebases and suggests fixes for human review. It sits in one narrow slice of the application security layer. It does not replace the 10-layer enterprise defense stack. It actually makes every layer more critical — because agentic AI explodes the attack surface. Here’s the real 2026 security stack and exactly who wins: Identity & Access (securing humans + AI agents) • $OKTA — identity for both. AI agents need the same rigorous auth as employees. • $ZS — Zero Trust Exchange becomes the gate for every AI workflow. Endpoint & Workload Security (what actually runs on machines & clouds) • $CRWD — Falcon platform is already AI-native. Its “truth layer” at kernel level stops compromised agents cold. Gold standard per Wedbush. • $S — SentinelOne’s Purple AI is crushing it in autonomous SOC — partners say it’s best-in-class. Data Protection & Recovery (the undo button when AI agents go rogue) • $RBRK — Rubrik’s immutable backups + AI-powered recovery. When an agent encrypts everything, this is the lifeline. Network & Edge Security (how AI traffic actually moves) • $NET — Cloudflare gates agentic traffic at the modern internet edge. • $FTNT — secures AI flows inside the enterprise. • $PANW — coordinates the whole stack + Cortex. Platformization + CyberArk acquisition = vendor consolidation winner. Bottom line: Claude Code Security is helpful at the code-writing stage. But once those agents are in production — talking to each other, accessing data, moving money — you need the full stack more than ever. Gartner says global AI cybersecurity spending doubles to $51 billion in 2026. Wedbush’s Dan Ives (the biggest AI bull on the Street) calls cybersecurity the shelter from the software selloff — not the victim. Who moves forward strongest? $CRWD, $PANW, $ZS — already deep into AI platforms, massive partnerships (CRWD + ZS just expanded again), best positioned to secure the AI era itself. They’re not getting disrupted. They’re the ones disrupting the attackers. The rest of the sector? Some will consolidate. Legacy pure-plays without AI muscle will feel pressure. But the leaders are taking share and raising guidance. AI doesn’t replace cybersecurity. It makes it 10x more necessary — and hands the strongest platforms permanent moats.

The vicious selloff in cybersecurity stocks after Anthropic dropped Claude Code Security last week is textbook headline panic.

$CRWD -8%, $OKTA -9%, $NET -8%, $RBRK -8%, $ZS -5,5%, $S -5%,
$PANW -2% and $FTNT -2%

Investors freaked: “AI will scan code, find bugs, auto-patch — who needs traditional cyber tools anymore?”

Wrong conclusion.

Here’s the real 2026 security stack and exactly who wins:

Identity & Access (securing humans + AI agents)
• $OKTA — identity for both. AI agents need the same rigorous auth as employees.
• $ZS — Zero Trust Exchange becomes the gate for every AI workflow.

Endpoint & Workload Security (what actually runs on machines & clouds)
• $CRWD — Falcon platform is already AI-native. Its “truth layer” at kernel level stops compromised agents cold. Gold standard per Wedbush.
• $S — SentinelOne’s Purple AI is crushing it in autonomous SOC — partners say it’s best-in-class.

Data Protection & Recovery (the undo button when AI agents go rogue)
• $RBRK — Rubrik’s immutable backups + AI-powered recovery. When an agent encrypts everything, this is the lifeline.

Network & Edge Security (how AI traffic actually moves)
• $NET — Cloudflare gates agentic traffic at the modern internet edge.
• $FTNT — secures AI flows inside the enterprise.
• $PANW — coordinates the whole stack + Cortex. Platformization + CyberArk acquisition = vendor consolidation winner.

Bottom line:

Claude Code Security is helpful at the code-writing stage.
