@Buckeyepoop@OhioStateMan_ Okay yeah I’m sure the best defensive coordinator in the country won’t make any adjustments and will single cover Jeremiah Smith. Yup that sounds about right
Here’s Isaiah Jones on #iufb’s defensive mindset before facing Ohio State. Said it needs to stop the run, among other areas:
“We're not going to let you beat us with your best people. We're not going to let you beat us with the guy who's been torching the rest of the country.”
@Buckeyepoop@OhioStateMan_ We just got AJ Harris back last week after he got hurt on the opening drive week 1 and he was brought in to play the Ponds role on the boundary side. He’s not on Ponds’ level, but better than what we’ve shown on tape so far. I also doubt they put anyone on an island with 4
@HM173095@kylamb8 Right if Jeremiah Smith has 7 for 98 then I’d be pretty confident Indiana wins. He could have 10 for 150 and we could still win. His past stats against IU are pretty irrelevant though because D’Angelo Ponds is now a Jet and not playing for the Hoosiers on Saturday
@kylamb8 I mean it was a weird Hail Mary where the defense was just making sure he didn’t somehow catch it and run for another 40 yards it wasn’t exactly a meaningful catch… and yeah I am saying 7 for 98 would be considered a bad game for Jeremiah Smith lol
@KingRyanDay He said winning the big ten against Ohio State was more exciting to him than winning the national championship. It’s personal to him he’s going to ball out again this weekend
@HoosierPourke I think it’s that certain looks wouldn’t have worked against rushing threat QBs and it wasn’t worth showing much against Rutgers. So less about “saving” it for Ohio St. but I do think you’re right we see some stuff for the first time this season this weekend
@hoosiercommish My guess? Nebraska is with the wind and now has long FG range. Puts us down 7 instead of 8 if we didn’t get it. Maybe liked the look we had then Nebraska called a TO and knew we wouldn’t get the look
