Breaking: Raila Odinga's aide Dennis Onyango has revealed what was really happening behind the scenes of the Azimio campaign, and some of the admissions are remarkable.
He says Makau Mutua and a few others derailed Raila's presidential bid. He describes advisers who appeared influential but added little value to the campaign. He also revealed that the much-publicized Azimio tallying centre did not exist.
The criticism of Makau Mutua is interesting, but what caught my attention was the praise for Junet Mohamed. Because when I look back at that campaign, one of the things I remember most is the arrogance.
At a time when many Kenyans were angry about the economy and frustrated with the political class, some of Azimio's loudest voices seemed more interested in insulting critics, mocking opponents and lecturing voters.
Looking back, I sometimes wonder whether Raila was defeated by Ruto, or by the people around him.
The more insiders speak, the more the 2022 campaign looks less like a stolen victory and more like one of the biggest self-inflicted political defeats in Kenya's history.
Men,
You can recover from financial loss,
You can recover from an illness,
But years spent with a chaotic woman are years you can never reclaim.
They are gone.
So, choose wisely.
