Conditions like ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism and Dyspraxia are inherited Neurodevelopmental conditions. In order to support children with these diagnoses or who have mental health problems, Governments MUST also provide adequate and timely support to the parents too.
As someone who is neurodivergent - & was only diagnosed with ADHD recently - I know the long term impact of late diagnoses on mental health.
Young people today deserve action to cut waiting times & improve screening so we can ensure early diagnosis of all neurodiverse conditions
Michael @LivedLtd: thx for your heartfelt interview with @janegarvey1 @BBCRadio4's LifeChanging. Your work and aids like this from Alice @Rippletools might've helped my dear friend Jim who took his life in 2010 leaving behind wife & children. #MentalHealth

WE'RE EXCITED! It's ADHD Awareness Month, plus we're selling creations by our amazingly talented members at the @KingstonArts and Crafts Fair today and tomorrow (2nd and 3rd October, 10am - 5pm) at the Guildhall, Kingston-upon-Thames (High Street KT1 1EU).
Seeing as ADHD is a lifelong Neurodevelopmental condition (50% of our Members also have Autism); is classified as a disability in The Equality Act 2010 and referrals for assessments are at an all-time high, it's a shame our support group wasn't invited to take part. Next year eh?
Come along to our Disability Awareness Day in the Market Square, this Sunday from 1pm, to explore stalls from local groups!
Our Cllrs and Chief Exec have been taking part in activities to raise their awareness and promote the event 👇

“So this ADHD thing explains a lot: the impulsive behaviour, the drugs from a young age, not learning the alphabet until I was 28. Education is about remembering stuff and I could never remember anything, so I didn’t get an education.”
