Inexpensive, rugged, and compact, that’s me! Yeoman of the Luchtvaartafdeling. Ik spreek een beetje Nederlands . Dank U wel! Only een beetje, mind you!
@WW2TV Without fleshing out a full top ten, another vote here for Cruel Sea and would throw in another couple of naval epics, the Korean film The Admiral: Roaring Currents (like a naval ‘300’ but great) and the Chinese film Red Cliff (the full 4 hour version).
@trickcyclistraf I feel hour pain. I despise Teams after months of working on it, with almost daily trumpeting by senior managers of how marvellous it is.
@ProfTonyPollard@andrewgmorton@joebloggsuk1 I remember Ecci Romani! ‘In pictura est Cornelia. Cornelia est puella parva….’ Intro to Book 1 (it was something like that anyway!)
@clark_aviation What a great photo! That fuselage framework immediately made me think of a vaulted cathedral ceiling, like this one from Gloucester Cathedral. Convergent evolution of designs for strong structures!
A friend has just shown me this book "Calculus made easy", published in 1914, and I think it's got one of the best prologues I've ever seen. This is *exactly* what textbooks should be doing. And they should all be honest about how terrifying the topic names are too.
@JoeThorpe1963@DefenceHQ@RoyalNavy@JohnnyMercerUK Don’t engage further with this asshat, folks. This toxic post is clearly his second dick move after setting up a Parler account with the rest of the boneheads over there.
