The European Commission has faced criticism from Human Rights Watch in a statement criticising double game of “condemning Taliban abuses and pursuing accountability on one hand, while collaborating with them to forcibly return Afghans on the other.”

The Crimes of the Taliban Against Afghanistan Women: A Life of Suppression and Despair :
The Taliban's rule over Afghanistan has been marked by widespread human rights abuses, with Afghan women bearing the brunt of their oppressive policies. Since their resurgence in power in 2021, following the U.S. withdrawal, the Taliban has enforced draconian laws that systematically strip women of their fundamental rights, reducing them to second-class citizens. This reality has left many Afghan women feeling the heavy weight of repression, and for some, the unbearable burden of being a woman under Taliban rule has become a source of despair and even hatred toward their gendered existence.
Suppression of Education ,
One of the most glaring crimes committed by the Taliban against women is the prohibition of female education. In a swift return to their previous rule (1996–2001), the Taliban closed schools and universities to girls and young women, denying them the opportunity for personal development and the chance to contribute to society. This policy, cloaked in conservative religious rhetoric, has condemned a generation of Afghan women to illiteracy, stifling their potential and dreams. The Taliban’s ban on female education is a direct attack on women’s autonomy, isolating them from the broader world and ensuring they remain dependent on men for survival. The psychological toll of this isolation is profound. Education is not only a tool for individual empowerment but also a means to societal participation and personal agency. Many Afghan girls and women, once hopeful and ambitious, are now faced with bleak futures, deprived of their right to learn, grow, and pursue careers. [ 1️⃣ / 2️⃣ ]

It’s a profound honour to have been the first Hazara parliamentary candidate in this wonderful country of ours. Sad that it wasn’t to be for me, but I am overwhelmed with pride to have been a part of the @UKLabour team.
The British Hazaras, with a strong sense of justice, borne out of centuries of abuse and persecution, have added enormous positive value to towns and cities across our country.

I am delighted and honoured to be selected as Labour's parliamentary candidate for The Wrekin.
From Taliban captivity and torture as a 12-year-old child to arriving here as a refugee and reaching where I am today, I owe everything I have to this wonderful country. I am determined to pay back what I owe.
This election is an opportunity to put an end to 14 years of Tory chaos. It is time for change and a fresh start for our country. It is time for stability with Labour.
Over the coming weeks, I will work tirelessly to earn the trust of voters of in The Wrekin.
I need all the help I can get to win. If you can support in any way, please get in touch.

Please share this information: for some new arrivals, it may be the first time they have had an opportunity to vote in a genuine democratic election
In my latest for the @guardian, I spoke to a 16 years old girl and many other girls who were arrested and detained by the Taliban.
Lale, who was detained for two days and nights, said the Taliban repeatedly cursed them as infidels, for studying English and for aspiring to go abroad.
