They went home inspired and equipped to lead, mentor, challenge and encourage other men. To transform their communities by teaching and promoting responsible, positive masculinity and preventing GBV.
They spoke about their stories, wounds, habits, responsibilities and communities. Their role in the fight against GBV. And the kind of men they are choosing to become. They challenged one another. Encouraged one another. And reminded each other that no man is meant to walk alone.
"This kind of recognition would not be possible without our incredible @FatherANationSA team working tirelessly on the ground to restore healthy masculinity & end GBV. Team, this award belongs to all of us. And it’s a testament to the impact that FAN is having across our nation."
What a beautiful evening, surrounded by men and women committed to helping heal our nation. Thank you to Cynthia Dinalane and Tshegofatsa Rona Welfare for creating an event that honours survivors, organisations and individuals who refuse to give up in the fight against GBV.
This acknowledgment is very special because it comes from a women-led shelter working every day with those most affected by abuse - the very ones we are seeking to protect through our work with men. Cynthia, a courageous survivor herself, has opened her own home to women fleeing abuse and has helped more than 150 survivors rebuild their lives with dignity, hope and purpose. To receive this award from Cynthia and an organisation doing such extraordinary work is an incredible honour and I am deeply touched.
This kind of recognition would not be possible without our incredible @FatherANationSA (FAN) team working tirelessly on the ground to restore healthy masculinity and end GBV. They deal with so much pain and brokenness in communities around South Africa, and they continue to fight - bringing light, healing, encouragement, peace and strength. Team, this award belongs to all of us. And it’s a testament to the impact that FAN is having across our nation.
To Cynthia and the women of Tshegofatsa Rona Welfare - I, and everyone at Father A Nation, will never stop fighting for you and for every woman, child and man affected by abuse and GBV.
We will win this fight together.

Snaps from our Alex #MadodaWednesdays, a safe space where men can share, mentor, support, grow and hold each other accountable.
No need for fancy venues or attire - the power of a Band of Brothers means "where you are" and "as you are".
We're here for you men. Come join us.
Every boy deserves a man who believes in him. Who calls out the good in him & teaches him how to use his strength well.
To every boy & young man out there: You have what it takes. Your life matters. And the world needs the good that’s inside you.

Honoured to have been nominated for the 5th Annual National GBV Awards for the work we do at @FatherANationSA. And I stand in the company of remarkable men, my fellow nominees, all doing great work to build a stronger, safer nation.
Thank you Cynthia Dinalane and the team at Tshegofatsa Rona Welfare for the nomination, and for the important work you continue to do for GBV survivors and vulnerable children.
Gender-based violence remains one of the greatest challenges facing our nation. Building healthier men, stronger families and safer communities will take all of us working together with courage, compassion and responsibility.
To my fellow nominees, and to every individual and organisation committed to this work - thank you for helping build a more hopeful nation for us all. 🇿🇦🙌

Asking men for one word to describe how they feel after a FAN camp. 🧡
Not all chains are visible. Anger, fear, bitterness & hatred imprison. Leave them behind. Choose love. Choose truth. That’s real freedom. And freedom has a way of setting others free too.
Happy #FreedomDaySA

🎙️ JUST DROPPED | The Crisis We’re Ignoring in Boys and Men
We are raising a generation of boys without fathers - at a time when masculinity itself is in crisis. Where does that leave us as a society?
The latest episode of #ForceForGood with George Matsheke, CEO of @IamMarvinZA, goes to the heart of it.
Fatherlessness. Identity. The growing disconnect between men and women - and how these issues don’t stay contained, but ripple outward into families, into communities, and into the future we’re building.
This is not about blame. It’s about understanding what’s happening, and what needs to change.
