@JhWesten@frfrankpavone And if you cut them down, and you're just the man to do it, do you really think you could stand upright in the winds that would blow then? Yes, I'd give the Devil benefit of law, for my own safety's sake!”

@timothy_stanley I remember him asking, through a puff of cigarette smoke, when Father @benedict_kiely and I visited him, "America. Yes. I've always wondered what the point of America is?" May he rest in peace.
Remarkable gospel clarity from VP @JDVance: “[Christianity] isn’t just a good set of moral principles, though it is that. The fundamental tenet of the Christian faith is that the Son of God became man. He died, then He raised Himself from the dead. And I think so much flows from that.”
@sitsio Thanks, Mark. It really was. Of course, the fact that we were encouraged by those three does convey a message. And a wonderful tribute to Cardinal Pell was given by Canon Alexander Sherbrooke.
@sitsio This is a photo I took at St. Mary Major during Mass with the Confraternities of Catholic Clergy of the USA, UK and Australia. Not a commentary on Pope Francis. We were simply gathering as priests for fraternity and enrichment of our priestly lives. No need to read more into it.
@FrGoyo Be assured of my prayers for you, brother. If I may selfishly ask if you would kindly offer up the smallest part of your suffering for me and my parish. I know God will hear your prayers. One of my parishioners, formerly of St. Monica's, told me of your situation. +
@BVMConsolatrix Forgive. He’s wounded and acknowledges he has a lot of soul searching to do. Perhaps he’s not ready yet to accept responsibility but that time will come with the help of the healing grace of Christ. He has taken a big step forward. His dismissal was providential for him.
