One year ago today, the College of Cardinals elected Cardinal Robert Prevost as the 267th Successor of Peter. Taking the name Leo XIV, he became the first U.S.-born pope in the history of the Church. We give thanks for his ministry and continue to pray for our Holy Father.
The Most Reverend Henry J. Mansell, Fourth Archbishop of Hartford, died this morning, April 21, 2026, at the age of 88. Always grateful to him ordaining me to the transitional diaconate and priesthood. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him!

Can we truly start our lives over again? Yes! The Lord’s response, so full of love, fills our hearts with hope. No matter how weighed down we are by pain or sin: the crucified One carries all these burdens with us and for us. No matter how discouraged we are by our own weaknesses: it is precisely then that God manifests His strength, the God who has raised Christ from the dead in order to give life to the world. Each one of us can experience the freedom of new life that comes from faith in the Redeemer. #ApostolicJourney #Algeria https://t.co/jXvstS86NB
“I am disheartened that the President chose to write such disparaging words about the Holy Father. Pope Leo is not his rival; nor is the Pope a politician. He is the Vicar of Christ who speaks from the truth of the Gospel and for the care of souls.” - Archbishop Paul S. Coakley, President, USCCB

The Sunday Eucharist is indispensable to the Christian life. It is there that our faith is grows and strengthens. It is there that our efforts, though limited, are united by God’s grace to the actions of the members of a single body — the Body of Christ — for the accomplishment of a single great plan of salvation that embraces all humanity.
Most Rev. Christopher J. Coyne, Archbishop of Hartford, reflects on Easter Sunday.
The women and apostles who stood before the empty tomb that first Easter morning didn't yet understand what had happened. But we do. "We stand in the fullness of faith. We stand in the resurrection." The empty tomb is not a sign of despair. It is the foundation of our hope and salvation.

Happy Easter!
Easter Sunday, the day of our salvation! The world begins again! When Jesus rolled away that stone and walked away from that tomb empty — He changed everything.
May our brother in Christ, Willie Colon, rest in the eternal peace of Christ! The salsa legend’s music that my father would play LP’s at home which led me to choose the trombone as the instrument I would learn as a child and play until high school. What a beautiful farewell!
EL ADIÓS A WILLIE COLÓN EN LA CATEDRAL DE ST. PATRICK
Willie Colón fue un grande de la salsa, un grande de Puerto Rico y un grande de Nueva York, y en su catedral más emblemática se juntaron cientos de personas a despedirlo, al ritmo de "La Murga del Panamá"

The Pope’s Prayer intention for the month of March is for peace.
“Today we lift up our prayer for peace in the world, asking that nations renounce weapons and choose the path of dialogue and diplomacy."
James Van Der Beek’s final message to the world is one of the most powerful things I have ever heard. Stop whatever you are doing and listen to this! 🥺

Today, we remember Saint John XXIII. His humility and vision opened the Church to the modern world through the Second Vatican Council and his landmark encyclical Pacem in Terris. Saint John XXIII, pray for us!
In whatever the Lord calls us to do, there are times when we feel inadequate. Yet the #GospelOfTheDay (cf. Jn 14:23-29) tells us not to rely on our own abilities but on the mercy of the Lord who has chosen us, and to be certain that the Holy Spirit guides us and teaches us all things.
When we consider our calling, each of us can say with confidence: “Despite my weakness, the Lord is not ashamed of my humanity. Instead, he comes to dwell within me. He accompanies me with his Spirit; he enlightens me and makes me an instrument of his love for others.”
