Sometimes what we think is a bad break is really God protecting us. You may not understand what God is doing now, but one day you will understand. One day you’ll say, “I’m glad that door didn’t open. I’m glad that prayer didn’t get answered. I’m glad the delay happened."

You may have made a mess of things in your life, but God knows how to not only clean up the mess but also how to bring you out where nobody knows what you’ve been through. Your mistakes are not going to be your identity.

To reach your destiny, you’re going to have to put up with some things. You’re going to have to be the bigger person and overlook some insults, not defend yourself every time, not have to have the last word, straighten people out. You’re going to have to be the lamb and let God fight your battles.

You can set a new standard. It starts in your thinking. You have to delete any strongholds that contradict who God says you are. Thoughts will tell you, “You’ll never break that addiction.” God says, “Whom the Son sets free will be unquestionably free.”
