TO THE WOMEN COUNTING PERIODS AND TO THOSE WHO CAN'T COUNT😢
Dear Women of our warm green planet,
Eleven periods down, one more to go. And while manyy women count theirs with a quiet sense of triumph, a rhythm that reassures them that their bodies are still faithful, still predictabvle, still theirs, there are others whose bodies hum to a different tune.
And we must remember them too.
Some will bleed twice, even thrice again before the year folds itself into memory, not because their calendars are wrong, but because their hormones are restless. because polyps and fibroids and thyroid whispers and the quiet rebellion of PCOS have rewritten their cycles without permission.
Some will meet their periods not with relief, but with dread, that familiar ache that steals sleep and appetite and sometimes, joy. And some will meet blood in unexpected moments, at work, in church, in the middle of laughter, a reminder that the body can both serve and betray.
There are women who cannot plan, whose periods come like uninvited rain, staining skirts and moments, forcing grace to sit beside embarrassment. And yet, they rise. They clean up. They smile again.
Because that is what women do.
And so, to every woman, whether your body is clockwork or chaos, whether your bleeding brings comfort or confusion, I want to say, you are doing well. You are seen. You are celebrated.
For every drop, every cramp, every sigh that no one else hears, there is honour. There is strength. There is womanhood.
Here’s to you, still standing, still soft, still magnificent. ❤️
