I didn’t want to make a thread about this, considering the really sad incident, but this conversation has been raging all day on Twitter.
So, Let’s talk about why you’re doomed the moment you're in a road traffic accident (RTA) in Nigeria and the systemic failures that make survival a matter of luck. 🧵
I am typically the last to hear of any trending gossip in any environment. I hate environments rife with gossip because nobody gets spared. You listen to a gossip today, best believe you'd be a victim of gossip in that same environment tomorrow.
Loving someone and asking Allah to make that person yours seems like a dangerous thing to do.
Do you even know who and what you're asking Allah to give you? Sometimes it is safer to just ask Allah to choose for you 🫠🫠
We are happy to announce our partnership with @LagosSDGInvest alongside @OPay_NG, to launch a groundbreaking initiative aimed at empowering women across Lagos State by deepening financial inclusion and promoting human capital development.
If there is one thing I can say about Lagos, it is that it loves its youths. In fact, the youths are so dear to Mr. Governor's heart that he goes to great lengths to look out for their well-being and all-round development. There is no need to run around; the facts and figures are everywhere. You only need to look. And it helps even more that Mr. Governor (@jidesanwoolu) is a youthful person. You cannot be around him without feeling alive!
All I am trying to say is this - as a young person in Lagos, you have a lot of advantages. You have access to myriads of opportunities for growth and development. In Lagos, your dreams are very valid. So, you will be doing yourself a great disservice if you do not key into what the state is doing to engage the youths.
So, once again, this city is your city. Own it. Live it. Love it. And prosper in it. This Lagos is OURS. Èkó ò ní bàjẹ́!

Today, I led my team, alongside the Honourable Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education (@lasgeducation), Mr. @JamiuTolani and the Honourable Commissioner for Tertiary Education (@mte_lagos), Mr. @TolaniSule, on a mission to reach some underserved communities as part of assessment for the Lighthouse Project. Our journey included a 40-minute boat ride to Taffi Awori, a remote riverine community. Our assessment identified that the existing school structure is no longer sufficient, forcing students to make demanding journeys across water bodies to attend classes in neighbouring communities.
To address this challenge and drive access to quality education for the children in the community, my office will be partnering with the Lagos State Education Structure to facilitate the delivery of new classroom blocks which will serve Taffi Awori and the surrounding communities. Our partnership efforts will also extend to the State’s Ministry of Health (@LSMOH) towards revamping the community’s primary health care centre and ensuring easy access to crucial healthcare services for the residents.
Also, while addressing the community members, I emphasised the importance of proper sanitation practices and the transformative power of education. For me, reaching these hard-to-reach communities is not just a goal – it is a passion. This is a key part of the Lighthouse Project, which is built on the principle of inclusion, and my office remains strongly committed to collaborating with all stakeholders to ensure no underserved community is left behind as we strive to advance the SDGs across Lagos State.

I firmly believe that participatory governance is key to achieving the SDGs in any society, and empowering citizens with information is one of the most effective ways to get everyone on board. When people understand the progress being made, they feel included in the decisions shaping their lives and future.

So I actually took time to listen to the episode and tbh this trend of clickbait is absolutely disgusting. The entire episode was 46mins. The FIRST thing Toyosi said when introducing herself was that she’s a founder and CEO
