MWAN-UNMSA in collaboration with HUWANE
present a webinar themed:
Ending the Scourge: Eliminating Sexual Violence in Conflict
Date: 30th June, 2025
Time: 7pm
Venue: Google Meet
Let's build a future where sexual violence has no place in conflict✨
House Officers are the first resident doctors. They are the first on call, full of energy and hope, often working tirelessly through long shifts—sometimes without even a proper meal. Yet in 2025, many of them are still unpaid for months. This is unacceptable.
In the past 20 years, Nigeria has lost over 20,000 doctors to brain drain, driven by poor welfare and inadequate infrastructure. We cannot keep repeating the same mistakes and expect different outcomes.
We kindly call on the @Fmohnigeria (Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare) to resolve this issue and continue implementing policies that will improve our health systems.
Dear @MDCNOfficial, house officers are being owed salaries
In a country with dwindling health professionals, we should do our utmost best to ensure that every doctor is allowed to thrive
Every worker is due their wages. Withholding it is a violation of their rights.
@the_beardedsina@MDCNOfficial It’s a clear violation of human rights. HOs do the chunk of the work in our hospitals, yet they are poorly paid and their salaries are consistently delayed. Worse still, MDCN and FG have failed to implement the new minimum wage for HOs, even when other sectors have done so.
House Officers are the Bed rock of Medical practice in Nigeria.
House Officers are the work engine of Medicine in Nigeria
MDCN @MDCNOfficial. Why are House Officers been owed over a month of their due salary.
They have worked tirelessly.
This is violation of human rights.
As @aproko_doctor rightly puts it..
In a country with dwindling health professionals, we should do our utmost best to ensure that every doctor is allowed to thrive
Every worker is due their wages. Withholding it is a violation of their rights.
