The thought of competeing against a fellow believer or infact anyone, is doubting/ disrespcting God's work. It deflects the spotlight on self-reflection from us and robs off the opportunities.
Everyone is created with talents instilled according to the capacity designed by God. Attuning the talents to Glorify God comes with obedience. To whom much is given, much is expected. Luke 12:48
Every believer must understand that we're not competing against each other. Yes, we're running a race and must complete to receive the award, but never compete.
The true Christian is called to be a soldier & must behave as such; He is not meant to live a life of religious ease, indolence, & security. He must never imagine for a moment that he can sleep & doze along the way to heaven, like one travelling in an easy carriage.
@JCRyle
Marriage is not about a wedding. Marriage is about a covenant made between one man, one woman, and God for life. A wedding day will quickly pass away, but a marriage covenant before God lasts a lifetime. Marriage is made by God, sustained by God, and for the glory of God.
Married people, singles are looking to you and your spouse to either build up or tear down their view of marriage.
Namely, when you and your spouse argue at the restaurant or when you disrespect your husband at the coffee shop, or when you speak poorly of your wife at a guys' night, it's not just you who is affected, but the young man, woman, or child who's forming their view of marriage.
So before you bicker back, before you raise your voice, before you disrespect, remember that your your short-term folly will influence their long-term definition.
