Most women, intrinsically, do not have empathy.

They can express sympathy but they do not have empathy. They are completely unable to put themselves in a lesser person's shoes.

When the Microsoft Leap internship program began in Nigeria in 2019, a colleague and I went to have a discussion with the then CEO of Tek Experts, one very dashing looking woman like that.

The discussions progressed well for this women-only cohort until it got to perks. I was part of the recruitment and knew that a lot of ladies were coming from very far locations, and it would be stressful commuting that distance from somewhere on the mainland to Victoria Island every day.

I recommended having a hybrid arrangement where they'd be in the office twice or thrice a week, and if possible have a little allowance to cover for their transport.

Guess the response.

This woman told me, "this is an opportunity with Microsoft and they should be grateful they were considered in the first place."

I turned to look at my colleague who was and is a woman, and she went, "true, most people will want to be part of this. If they don't want it, others will."

In my head, I was like "haaa." These were women controlling tens and hundreds of millions in budget unwilling to make the lives of their fellow women easier.

Even in the internship proper, I realised some of the shoddies I was fighting for started to see me as an enemy. I no fit believe my eyes.

Why is that the case tho? I really don't understand it.

Before you launch your vibe coded project, run this prompt first:

- Secrets, API keys, credentials, internal endpoints, personal data, or implementation details that could be unintentionally exposed.

- Missing validation and sanitisation at trust boundaries. Do not assume client-side validation is sufficient.

Race conditions, concurrency, and state integrity

- Duplicate submissions caused by repeated clicks, retries, refreshes, or concurrent requests.

- Non-idempotent operations that can create duplicate records, payments, messages, bookings, jobs, or side effects.

- Stale state, optimistic update failures, lost updates, conflicting writes, and out-of-order async responses.

- Effects, subscriptions, listeners, timers, and requests that are not correctly cleaned up.

- UI states where actions remain available while an operation is already in progress.

- Cache invalidation problems and inconsistencies between client state, server state, and persisted data.

- Multi-tab, multi-device, and poor-network scenarios where relevant.

Reliability and failure handling
- Unhandled promise rejections, swallowed errors, silent failures, infinite loading states, broken retry loops, and incomplete rollback behaviour.

- Missing loading, empty, error, offline, timeout, and partial-success states.

- Failure paths that leave data or the UI in an inconsistent state.

- Assumptions about API responses, nullability, ordering, timing, or network availability that could cause production failures.

- Memory leaks, unnecessary rerenders, expensive operations, and obvious performance bottlenecks that materially affect the user experience.

Accessibility
- Semantic HTML and correct use of landmarks, headings, labels, lists, tables, buttons, and links.

- Keyboard navigation, logical tab order, focus visibility, focus trapping, and focus restoration.

- Missing or incorrect accessible names, labels, descriptions, and ARIA attributes.

- Colour contrast, text legibility, touch-target sizes, zoom behaviour, reduced-motion support, and reliance on colour alone to communicate meaning.

- Screen-reader behaviour for modals, menus, dropdowns, tabs, toasts, validation errors, loading states, and dynamically updated content.

- Forms with unclear instructions, inaccessible validation, missing autocomplete attributes, or poor error recovery.

- Test against WCAG 2.2 AA expectations where applicable.

Visual and interaction consistency
- Inconsistent spacing, typography, colour usage, border radii, shadows, icon sizing, alignment, component dimensions, and responsive behaviour.

- Components that visually appear identical but behave differently, or behave identically but are implemented inconsistently.

To the highly intelligent man, logic even more than money is his God. He will worship it vigorously, dismissing anything that does not obey it, believing it contains the answers to all things even as he perverts and corrupts it to suit his biases.

He will cling to reason desperately. He will not relegate it until it fails him in the most catastrophic of ways, and he becomes intimately aware of its acute limitations. Then and only then will he gain an appreciation for chaos, death, paradox and spirituality. Then and only then will he realise logic does not have the answers to all things. Only then will he realise how prideful and ignorant he has been.

It is for these reasons he has love: to show him the foolishness of his ways - that his reason is not a God that governs all, but a tool of understanding that can explain many things, but not all things, that can help him master many things, but not everything.

There exists a reality beyond the limitations of his logic, and it will batter down his doors in his smug, self-protective hubris until he is humbled. He is a zealot, and he will come kicking and screaming. For a man’s rationality to fail him then is a type of initiation - it is for this reason he must come to know heartbreak.
