While my phone was in my pocket, my PalmPay app displayed a fingerprint prompt which I believed was my normal phone unlock screen. Minutes later, a loan of ₦307500 was disbursed to my account without me intentionally applying or reviewing any terms.

More concerning is that the loan was issued without OTP, transaction PIN, or face scan. This means anyone with brief access to a phone could trigger debt.
