I like how Backrooms can be seen as a metaphor for the slowly unfolding mental degradation you see with Alzheimer's and other illnesses, but that it is also eerily reminiscent of AI trying and failing to recreate things people fed it, perpetually trying to reassemble something that has lost all semblance of its origin.
