@Faycernyny Faith Nzomo, "In 2019/2020, CFS absorbed 55% of ordinary revenue. By 2023/2024, that figure had risen to 81%. Meaning only 19% of collected taxes is left for development and other priorities. The rest goes to mandatory payments like interest and pensions."

According to the PFM Act, the debt ceiling is set at 55% of GDP in net present value terms. But we haven’t met that target yet, raising questions about whether the fiscal consolidation agenda is achievable.
