E-scooter company Bird trading at $0.24 a share after telling investors on Monday that its financial statements of the past 2.5 years "should no longer be relied upon" and there is "substantial doubt about the Company's ability to continue as a going concern"

Someone has to say it: Elon Musk has lied for 27 years about his credentials. He does not have a BS in Physics, or any technical field. Did not get into a PhD program. Dropped out in 1995 & was illegal. Later, investors quietly arranged a diploma - but not in science. 🧵1/
I hope you’ll continue to read and create and cultivate a sense of enchantment. I hope you’ll stand up to tyrants and bullies and defend the plight of the poor and oppressed. I hope you’ll have moments where the mundane slips away and you’re shaken anew by the world’s beauty.
My first tweet was a quote from Frasier. Seems fitting that this could be the last one.
Niles: I’ll miss the coffees.
Cue Frasier reading the last lines of Tennyson’s “Ulysses”.
“Two Virds, both known men of good reputation, named Askman and Glum, came forward and told of an instance of double woman-theft. Both of them had lost their daughters, buxom young women in the prime of their beauty, who had been stolen by two Göing otter-hunters.”
Being Black on a roadtrip is one of the eeriest things ever. We can see 400 years of trauma in one road trip. Like… the cotton fields are still here. Acres of cotton. And you just know. You pass certain trees and just feel sick. You cross certain town lines and just get scared.
Poland, in any of its geographic and historical iterations, is my soul country. Funny how a place and its culture could connect with you, no matter how distant.
For the people who don’t believe the Holocaust happened, or that Nazis existed, have they never read any of the hundreds, thousands of accounts by authors from disparate regions and times? It would be a super crazily coordinated hoax if indeed false.
Tbh I don’t know why I’m trying to be reasonable about Holocaust deniers. I’m 3 hours deep in 2 rare bookstores, so perhaps the euphoria is making me woozy?
@swordsjew I am so keen on Barbara Tuchman. Reading her “The March of Folly” gave me a similar sense. Just lots of fucked up egos and flexing, and total disregard for the rest of humanity.
Ok! Since my son’s synagogue preschool has amped up security and New Jersey’s temples were evacuated this month, here’s a test to see if a funny joke is anti-Semitic: If you replace “Jewish people” with another race is it racist? Are you making a uniquely terrifying time cute?
