You may be wondering, "What if I teach the routines, add all the pictures, and use visual rules, and they still don't cooperate?" Check out the answer below! #iHeartCD
Reflect on your communication with students! What is it that you want them to excel at this year?
- Academic achievement
- Meeting behavior expectations

It's a new school year! As you head into your classrooms, reflect on the ways that you can guide your students to becoming more involved with their "school family." Remember, consistency is key! #embrace#engage#excel@ConsciousD
We wanted to send a great big "WELCOME BACK" to our teachers and staff! We can't wait to see our students for their first day of school on August 2nd. Get ready for a fantastic school year! @fcboe#Embrace#Engage#Excel
Summer is here! You can maintain behavior expectations at home in a way that mimics the school setting. Create a PBIS matrix together with the kids! Get family input on what it looks like to be respectful, responsible, and safe at home. Write it, post it, and refer to it often!
We encourage all of our PBIS teams to find ways of acknowledging students that is unique to their school. It is the SPECIFIC, POSITIVE feedback students are receiving from adults in the building that can make a difference! #pbis#makingadifference
Next up in our series on the "Seven Skills of Discipline," is the skill of "Encouragement." With that in mind, see our "Conscious Commitment" for this week below.
Are you willing to commit? If so, post "ImWillingRU" in the comments! As always, we wish you well! #iHeartCD
As we come to the end of the school year, you may notice a change in your students' behavior. While most students are excited for a reprieve from school work, not all students are excited to be leaving your classroom that is filled with routines, schedules, and predictability...
#PBIS doesn't mean that discipline practices have to be ignored. Continue to build relationships even with negative #behavior. There are still consequences for (positive and negative) behavior, but #relationships help strengthen meaningful #conversations that can elicit #change.
#PBIS isn't just about the external acknowledgements for engaging in positive behavior - it's about the #relationship building that occurs through conversations and specific positive feedback. It's about developing and maintaining a #positive#schoolclimate.
#PBIS helps students learn social and emotional skills related to behavior in the school setting. Students come to us from many different cultures and backgrounds. PBIS puts an emphasis on teaching/modeling behavior expectations to build and improve upon foundational skills.
Welcome back, FCBOE Staff and Students! We hope you enjoyed your Spring Break! May your last few weeks of school be filled with #excellenceandcreativity! @fcboe
We challenge you to spread #sunshine and #positivity to your students today! We may be learning virtually, but a quick message from you can spark joy and confidence in their day. Your words are SO #POWERFUL! #youvegotthis#IBelieveInYou
Thank you to our incredible FCHS PBIS Team for celebrating and feeding our terrific Tiger staff today! The food and vibes were fantastic 😊 @TheRtILady @FayettePBIS@fcboe & our community partners 🖤💛
PBIS isn't just another acronym!
It is a framework that promotes student outcomes through the use of data, systems, and practices and also leads to a positive school climate and culture.
Teach. Model. Practice. Offer feedback. Repeat.
