These figures are estimates. How do you figure we gather accurate data from areas that lack even basic medical supplies like disposable syringes for children?
Is it just me or Daniel Craig has done more of a refined job in Knives Out franchise than James Bond?! In an attempt to play a heartless killer machine, he couldn't express his colours, as he did in Wake Up Dead Man. It hit quite close to home tbh.
Yesterday, the City of Kyoto published its “official statement” regarding the pledge form used at our guesthouse on its official website.
However, the contents of this statement significantly diverge from what was directly communicated to us orally by the relevant city department only days earlier.
Among the various issues, the following two points are particularly unacceptable:
First, the city deliberately avoids clearly stating that this case does not constitute a violation of the Inns and Hotels Act.
Second, the statement contains highly inappropriate language that suggests, without basis, that this case may be considered an act of nationality-based discrimination.
These points are in direct contradiction to what was explicitly stated by the department head during the initial hearing on April 24, in which he clearly said, “This does not violate the Inns and Hotels Act,” and “It cannot be judged as discrimination.” (We have retained an audio recording of this exchange.)
Nevertheless, the city’s published statement obscures this crucial fact and presents the issue in a way that gives the false impression that our guesthouse may have engaged in either illegal conduct or discriminatory practices.
Furthermore, the city’s statement asserts—without hesitation—that they “found out that inappropriate treatment had been provided in the past.”
Yet the basis for this conclusion appears to be nothing more than a subjective judgment by a city official, who presumed that the pledge form could be misinterpreted as suggesting that guests who refuse to sign would be denied accommodation. This presumption is unfounded and unilateral.
What is especially concerning is the strong impression that, due to the international diplomatic attention this issue has attracted, the City of Kyoto may be overaccommodating the views of the Israeli Ambassador—at the cost of its own neutrality and fairness. This raises serious questions about the integrity of the city’s administrative process.
Whether or not our actions constitute “discrimination” is not merely a matter of this individual case—it has far-reaching implications for how discrimination is defined and interpreted in public administration going forward.
Therefore, we are currently preparing a formal open letter to the City of Kyoto, requesting a clearer and more consistent position—one that could serve as a future standard for administrative decision-making.
There is restlessness in the silence. I was flipping the channel when ceasefire was announced. Aaj Tak and Zee News both started reporting ceasefire violations and drone attacks. Then suddenly a break came and after the break their entire tone of reporting changed. Someone posted on Twitter that Arnab was blasting Trump over ceasefire decision. Then he got a call between the show and when he returned his tone was completely changed. Omar Abdullah posted about multiple loud explosions in Srinagar and he hasn't posted anything since then. The media report claimed nothing happened. Why did Omar go silent as an eye witness? There is something govt is hiding. Why Home Minister Amit Shah & Defence Minister Rajnath Singh hasn't posted anything regarding the ceasefire. What happened in Nagrota? What happened in Vaishno Devi?. What happened in Srinagar? What input intelligence got? This doesn't look like just the Trump intervention saga. Going into coma mode after smoking 12 strategic air bases sounds very suspicious
@Sanjay_Dixit All of India is deranged to their core. You are delusional beyond the point of return. Get yourselves assessed. Honestly, how do you carry out your day to day activities?
